SCOPE:

Turnkey supply of Ultra Low NOx Regenerative Combustion Systems for one reconditioned aluminium elting furnace and one new tilting aluminium melting furnace

COMMISSIONED:

September 2000

 

No. 4 tilting melter fitted with 2 pairs of Hotwork
Ultra Low NOx EJ30 regenerative burners.

BENEFITS:

  • Burner outlet velocities in excess of 150 m/s on high fire
  • Improved melt rate
  • Specific energy consumption < 600 kWh/t
  • NO x < 200 mg/m3
  • Reduced CO2 emissions
 
 

Melter No. 4 (new tilting furnace):

  • Capacity: 20 tonnes
  • Melt rate: 7 tonnes / hour
  • Burners: 2 pairs of E-Jet EJ30 Ultra Low NOx Regenerative Burners rated at 3MW each

 

Melter No. 5 (refurbished furnace):

  • Capacity: 30 tonnes
  • Melt rate: 7.5 tonnes / hour
  • Burners: 2 pairs of E-Jet EJ30 Ultra Low NOx Regenerative Burners rated at 3MW each
  • Fuel: Dutch natural gas with net calorific value 8.8 kWh/m 3
  • Charge: Clean heavy scrap
